Our History

Discover the roots of the Youth in Performing Arts Program, initiated in 1992 on the Central Coast. Conceived by Graham Morris of Gosford West Rotary Club and embraced by Laycock Street Bicentennial Community Theatre, the program aimed to provide a platform for local youth with performing arts talent. Don Craig, the theater’s manager, collaborated with retired school Principal Alf Taylor, a seasoned stage performer, to organize and lead the initiative. Launched after the Queen’s Birthday Holiday weekend in June 1992, the program has since evolved into an annual showcase, fostering the artistic development of young talents while delivering top-notch entertainment to the community.
